Tivoli, a town in northeast area of Rome, 30 km from the central train station (Termini). This is really a gem which you can’t miss it if you have a trip to Rome. There’re 2 spots people like to see: Villa Adriana and Villa d’Este. Villa Adriana was the retreat place of Roman Emperor Hadrian (that’s why it bears his name), built around 120 A.D at the valley of Tivoli. Villa d’Este was built by Cardinal d’Este around 1560, at the hill top of Tivoli. He was the grandson of the infamous Pope Alexander VI (from the Borgia family).
